Registrar Name: GoDaddy Reviewer Name: Bart Rizz Rating: (1 worst - 5 best) 1 Comments: I bought email service from them... all they had to do was deliver my email and allow me access to it... they couldn`t do it! After a couple days of it working, emails to my hosted domain started bouncing back with "sorry that domain isn`t in my list of rcpt hosts". I called them two days in a row and both times they admitted it was their fault and said that it would have to be escelated to their advanced tech support which would take 24-48 business hours. I made the report on Thursday morning, and on Friday they told me that I would `probably` hear something back by Monday - in the mean time I would be losing all my email. This is obviously completely unacceptable, and when I asked for my money back to go to another service, they told me that since they had already setup the account that this would not be possible!! DO NOT USE THEIR SERVICE! Registrar Name: GoDaddy Reviewer Name: Jefferson Rating: (1 worst - 5 best) 1 Comments: I registered a new name GoDaddy and paid with a credit card. A few days later I received an email stating that my money has been refunded to the card with no explanation. I received no replies after several emails to the company, and since they had locked up the new domain name, I could not register it with another company. So I was stuck with an unregistered name, with no way to register it elsewhere. Very frustrating. Do not use this company. I do not know why it is highly recommended. Their support is poor. Registrar Name: GoDaddy Reviewer Name: Jonas Rating: (1 worst - 5 best) 1 Comments: complaint letter to Godaddy: RE: Order Confirmation #19572774 Please be advised that I never agreed to be billed for the services referred to in above order confirmation. I expect to be refunded the US $9.95 billed to my account in error. I have already transferred all domains I had registered with Godaddy to another registrar. Please close all accounts I have with Godaddy and remove all personal information Godaddy may have about me from your systems. As this is the second time Godaddy is billing me for unwanted services without providing a refund, a) I have started a dispute process with my bank, b) I will post a copy of this message to several domain related newsgroups, and c) I will forward a copy to the BBB. I have a domain registered with GoDaddy and I am using GoDaddy`s email forwarding to forward all my emails from my email address @ my domain with GoDaddy to my work email address. But every now and then I just don`t receive some emails that I myself send to my own email address @ my domain with GoDaddy. I don`t receive emails from a few my friends also. And the strange thing is those emails are not even bounced back to the sender, they are just not received by my email address @ my domain with GoDaddy. So I asked GoDaddy customer service and they said I could not receive those emails because the sender`s SMTP server is blocked by Go Daddy! So I said I am the sender and how they could have blocked my SMTP server because I was using my ISP SBC`s (Pacific Bell) SMTP server. So GoDaddy customer service told me that they have spam filter that automatically blocks SMTP servers if they receive spam from those SMTP servers. So it seems if one user using my ISP SBC`s SMTP server sends out spam then GoDaddy`s spam filter would actually block that SMTP server and after that whoever sends email using that ISP`s SMTP server will be blocked by GoDaddy. I said that`s ridiculous, because almost every ISP`s SMTP server is used by someone to send out spam and if they block those SMTP servers then that means all the emails sent using those SMTP servers will be blocked presently by GoDaddy even though all the users may not be sending spam. So I can`t receive emails from most of the ISPs like SBC (Pacific Bell), ATT, Comcast, COX because GoDaddy may be blocking their SMTP servers. So I asked GoDaddy customer service that that`s fine, if you want to block spam do so but don`t do that for my domain. I told them that I don`t want them to have any spam filter on my domain. But they told me that they can NOT turn off spam filter for a specific domain. So if I am keeping my domain with GoDaddy and using their email forwarding then I just have to deal with their stupid spam filter which could block almost any SMTP server and I may not receive emails from those SMTP servers. And the worst thing is the senders would not even receive bounced messages so the senders might be thinking that I received emails sent by them and I may never know that those emails were actually blocked by GoDaddy`s stupid spam filter. I am so frustrated with the way GoDaddy handles email forwarding and their spam filter. So I have decided to switch to another domain provider. I thought I would share my frustrating experience with you guys. If you want to use Email Forwarding please DO NOT ever go for GoDaddy. I don`t know who I want to switch to but I would love to hear some recommendations. - Jags Registrar Name: GoDaddy Reviewer Name: mike Rating: (1 worst - 5 best) 1 Comments: Are you kidding? Their upsells are ridiculously priced...probably the most expensive guys out there, AND if you get a single complaint about spam from one of your affiliates they shut your domain down and ask questions later, causing you thousands in revenue. Definitely the worst possible. I`d go with ipower.com Registrar Name: GoDaddy Reviewer Name: Dave Rating: (1 worst - 5 best) 1 Comments: Seems strange that nearly everyone that has posted here has very negative things to say, yet this website recommends them as a "top pick". Wonder if it has anything to do with the advertizing spots GoDaddy has all over this website. Don`t bite the hand that feeds you? I think that may be the case here. Registrar Name: GoDaddy Reviewer Name: Angelo Babudro Rating: (1 worst - 5 best) 1 Comments: I used GoDaddy for about five years, then one day I went to log-in to my account and could not. When I contacted a live customer support rep (which was not easy) they told me that somebody had informed them I had died and they accepted a falsified death certified and NEVER EVEN TRIED TO CONTACT ME! That blew my mind! They had my current phone number, e-mail, and mailing address on all my domains yet NOBODY tried to contact me -- they just handed my entire portfolio over to this unknown person (they refused to tell me who it was). On top of all this, they made ME FAX them my birth certificate, drivers` license, etc. to prove I was still alive -- that really rubbed salt in my wounds. As soon as they gave my domains back, I transferred them elsewhere. I would NEVER RECOMMEND GODADDY. Page | 1 2 GoDaddy Review Submit Review of GoDaddy |
