Registrar Name: GoDaddy Reviewer Name: Jessie Rating: (1 worst - 5 best) 5 Comments: I hadn't ever registered a domain name before, but it was really easy at GoDaddy. I use the 25mb hosting and it has been really good so far. Registrar Name: GoDaddy Reviewer Name: Josh Rating: (1 worst - 5 best) 5 Comments: I've been using GoDaddy for two years now and not only are the prices cheap, but the support is great (every request I sent was answered by the next day). I am pleased with GoDaddy and I recommend their services. Registrar Name: GoDaddy Reviewer Name: Nassim Hasbani Rating: (1 worst - 5 best) 5 Comments: Very Good support. Registrar Name: GoDaddy Reviewer Name: bernard kane Rating: (1 worst - 5 best) 5 Comments: I never had a problem with GoDaddy, and all the people I recommended go there have not either. Excellent, quick, just as they advertise. Registrar Name: GoDaddy Reviewer Name: A Rating: (1 worst - 5 best) 4 Comments: Basically, they're cheap, and that's what's best about them. It's hard to beat their prices. They allow for domain masking, which I've found useful. The key thing, though, is you can't mess up. If you try to transfer a locked or recently registered (within 60 days) domain name, the transfer will fail, but they won't refund your money. They're really bad about refunds or any kind of customer service. Just buy the domain name and keep it. Otherwise, GoDaddy stinks. A couple of years ago I had problems with their support, which was terrible then. I think it is much better now, but I still had some issues lately. All in all they are OK, but I would not necessarily recommend them (this only applies to domain registration services, I have no experience with their hosting). The other problem with them is, that any additional service is extra and costs add up quickly. I have finally decided to move my domains elsewhere, in particular to 1and1.com who offer lower costs ($5 per domain) and more features included (full disclosure: I got in on their 3 year free hosting promotion, therefore I am not aware how many services are included if you just register your domain for $5). There are other registrars which seem to offer more features free for a lower domain registration price (judging from their ads, no real experience). In general, today there are better options than Go Daddy, and Go Daddy seem to be interested in rising prices lately, which may continue in the future as well--I guess this was the end of the promo period for them :-). Quite frequent down time, problem accessing the domain with some ISP. but the FREEbies given are quite cool just lack of support. My site was recently hacked and I was told by the GoDaddy tech support rep that they could not help me and more or less said I was on my own. Although they are EXCELLENT at giving you a sales pitch during each customer support call, their support leaves the end user high and dry. It`s funny for any good call I have had with them, the tech rep asks if they can send me a survey, however, with any negative call, there is no mention of survey. In my attempt to get hosting transfer information, I spoke with a very decent rep. I explained I was preparing to end my relationship with GoDaddy and asked where the support was when I needed it. He could not answer my question, however spent considerable time trying to help me. Although my issue was not completely resolved, he truly did his best. Thank you Neal..., bye bye GoDaddy. It`s time for me to move on to a more relible service. While their customer service is OK, they really drop the ball on support sometimes. That being said, I have two major problems which won't be resolved and are causing me to leave and look for another reseller program. The first is that they are constantly competing with their own resellers and undercutting the resellers prices, while not offering the same deals to their resellers. The second is that the Linux VPS set up is so buggy and not up-to-date, the only way to get email services working correctly is to endlessly hack away at their automated coding, which does NOT work. Even then, you'll be unsuccessful more than you'll be successful. They offer NO support for these issues, BTW. Avoid their proprietary control panel (aka Turbopanel) like the plague if you do use their Linux virtual servers. The response of their shared and virtual dedicated servers seems very slow to me. Admittedly, I'm a thousand miles away from their Arizona data center, but I've spent ridiculous amounts of time waiting for responses from my own web sites. Now to add to all those problems, just today, I've been told that to change the contact info on the 115 domains I have registered with them I'll have to go through them all ONE AT A TIME! This is nuts. So skip GoDaddy unless all you're doing is registering a couple of domain names. Page | 1 2 GoDaddy Review Submit Review of GoDaddy |
